How my running got started.....
It all started with my good friend Nicole....she motivated a bunch of my mommy friends to go with her for walks/runs, Nicole kept pushing me to join them, I had so much on my plate with my daughters communion that i kept saying, no, when its all over I promise I will join you guys.

Then in October my friends ran the Diva 1/2 marathon and me and my friend Kathy and Lisa and our kids cheered them on.  After seeing how much fun they had doing it, I decided it was time to join them.
I started off slowly, in October of 2011... walking 1 mile a day or every other day, depending on when I had the time alone.  Then it went to 2 miles, and finally 3 miles....I would meet my friends in the park and we would walk at a pretty fast speed, a 3 mile loop.  That was it, I started getting that addicted feeling, I was then going for walks on days they were not meeting each other, and finally decided to start trotting to see if i can do it, well it was hard at first, i would walk a half a mile then trot then walk then trot....did that for about a good 2 months till i was able to run at least more then a mile.....
I don't even know or remember how it happened but one day I just started off running and then didn't feel like stopping, so i did my usual walking route and when i got home i clocked it and it was a 3 mile run with out stopping.  I was so excited and could not believe I did it.  After that accomplishment, I couldn't stop there, I just knew there was no way I could go back to walking anymore.....so I would go running every other day and do the same 3 mile loop, then at the end of my route if I had it in me I would add on a few extra blocks, when I got home and looked at my pedometer I had now went from 3 miles to 5 miles in about a week.  Well now I def. knew there was no turning back, if I can do 5 and know I could do more, so slowly but surely i kept bumping it up. 
Finally the time has come to register for the LI Marathon, I def. def. had doubts about finishing a 13.1 mile run, I told my husband there is NO WAY IN HELL I can run 13 miles w/out stopping.  He told me I could and I should!!  So the training began for that, every week a specific amount of miles had to be done, started with 3 miles then up and up, till the week before the race.  The race came and I was nervous as hell, but OMG I did it, I ran 13.1 miles in 2 hours, now I am HOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So now my training for the Tower of Terror in Disney starts, and to top that off, I registered myself and my two girls in the Diva 1/2 marathon in October of 2012.

Hi all, this is my first time blogging, I just wanted to try it out.
I want to write about my journey to the Disney run I am going to be attending in Sept. with 3 good friends.
So excited to go....this will be my first ever kid free trip....gonna miss the kids and hubby a lot but this is a must "TRY & DO" kinda trip ;)
